The Challenge

Instagram doesn't natively allow users to save videos, reels, or stories to their devices, creating a gap for millions of users who want to keep content they love, reference posts offline, or archive their own stories before they disappear. Existing solutions were either cluttered, unreliable, or required too many steps to be practical for everyday use.

The Solution

IGSaver is a fast, intuitive Instagram content downloader for Android, letting users save videos, photos, reels, stories, and profile pictures directly to their phone with minimal friction. Built around a one-tap, copy-and-download workflow, IGSaver removes every unnecessary step between a user and the content they want to save.

As the Android developer, I built IGSaver from the ground up, handling Instagram content parsing, in-app authentication, download management, and the seamless share-to-app integration flow.

Video & Photo Downloader: Save any Instagram feed video or photo directly to device storage via shared or copied link

Story Saver: Download Instagram stories before they disappear, with in-app Instagram login support for direct story browsing and saving — no copy-paste required

Reels Downloader: Full support for saving Instagram Reels videos to device in high quality

Share-to-App Integration: Native Android share sheet integration enabling one-tap downloads directly from the Instagram app without switching workflows

In-App Instagram Browser: Log in to Instagram within IGSaver to browse and download stories directly, eliminating any copy-paste friction entirely
