The Challenge

Managing and converting documents on mobile was either too limited, too slow, or dependent on unreliable internet-based tools. Professionals, students, and everyday users needed a powerful, offline-capable document conversion tool that handled real-world complexity, scanned PDFs, multi-page documents, batch conversions, directly on their Android device without compromise.

The Solution

PDF Converter is a full-featured, offline-first document conversion app for Android, enabling users to convert, scan, and manage documents in professional quality, right from their phone. From cover letters and invoices to student notes and business reports, PDF Converter handles every document workflow with speed, flexibility, and precision.

As the Android developer, I built PDF Converter from the ground up, handling the full file conversion pipeline, scanning engine, QR/barcode integration, and batch processing workflows.

What I Built

Universal File Conversion: Convert images, text, Excel, and scanned documents to PDF and back, with excellent output quality even for complex, multi-page documents

Powerful PDF Scanner: Scan physical documents directly into PDF format with multi-page support, adding pages seamlessly into a single file

Batch Conversion: Process multiple files simultaneously, outputting as a single merged file or separate individual PDFs

Quality & Size Controls: Flexible output options including High, Medium, and Low quality settings alongside size presets, Cropped, Letter, and A4, for every use case

Watermark Tool: Add professional watermarks to documents directly within the app

QR & Barcode Scanner: Built-in QR and barcode scanning for quick on-the-go information retrieval

Conversion History: Track and revisit past conversions for easy document management and retrieval
