The Challenge

Mobile video editing on Android was either too basic to be useful or locked behind watermarks and paywalls, forcing creators to compromise on quality, flexibility, or ownership of their own content. There was a clear gap for a professional-grade video editor that gave users full creative control without the watermark tax.

The Solution

VideoStar is a full-featured, watermark-free video editing app for Android, built for everyday creators who want professional results without the complexity or cost. From trimming and merging clips to speed ramping and audio replacement, VideoStar packs a complete editing suite into a clean, accessible mobile experience.

As the sole Android developer, I built VideoStar from the ground up, handling everything from video processing pipeline architecture to UI implementation and performance optimization.

What I Built

Video Merger & Joiner: Combine multiple video clips into a single video without quality loss, with support for compressing and joining in one seamless flow

Video Trimmer & Cutter: Precise cut and trim controls with HD export, designed for quick edits and Instagram story formatting

Video Splitter: Slice any video into two separate clips with frame-accurate precision

Speed Control: Fast and slow motion support with a wide speed range (0.2× to 100×) for creative and cinematic effects

Video to Audio Converter: Extract audio from any video and export as MP3, directly from the app

Add & Replace Music: Import music from device storage and layer or replace audio tracks on any video

Watermark-Free Export: Full HD video export with zero watermarks across all features — a core product differentiator
